The IBCD was founded in 1982 as CCEF West by its former director,
George Scipione. George worked and trained with Jay Adams at CCEF East
from 1968 to 1974. To facilitate growth, CCEF West became a separate
entity from CCEF East, and now operates as IBCD, a specialized ministry
under the auspices of Bayview Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Chula
Vista, California.
Institute for Nouthetic Studies
Offers training in Biblical Counseling by extension with Dr. Jay E.
Adams. Jay was instrumental in the founding of the Christian Counseling
and Educational Foundation (CCEF), the National Association of
Nouthetic Counselors (NANC), and Timeless Texts which now publishes his
books.
Leslie is a counselor, national speaker and author. She is the Relationship Expert Columnist for
Today's Christian Woman magazine and has written several books, including
The Emotionally Destructive Relationship. She has a monthly online newsletter, a blog and several other helpful resources–including a self assessment "quiz" on whether you are in emotionally destructive relationships–that you can receive for free.
Founded in 1975, NANC is a fellowship of Christian pastors and
laymen who promote the cause of Biblical counseling and the doctrine of
the sufficiency of the Scriptures. Along with teaching and training
opportunities, NANC also offers a certification program in nouthetic
counseling.
Paul Tripp is the author of several books, including
Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands, Lost in the Middle, War of Words and
Age of Opportunity. For a number of years he was a counselor and fulltime staff member of the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF). In the ministry's mission statement, he says the purpose of Paul Tripp Ministries is “to place the Gospel in the hallways, bedrooms, boardrooms, family rooms, condominiums and vans of everyday life.”
Soulcare Family Ministries
Founded in 1983 by Sid and Linda Gallowaym their ministry's motto
is: Helping Families Solve "People-Problems" for God's Glory. Sid has
an interesting background that includes teacher, writer, pastor, and
zookeeper. Their material is thoughtful and well grounded, and their
teaching and counseling ministry has several endorsements including
Wayne Mack of Strengthening Ministries International and David
Powlison, CCEF staff member and editor of the
Journal of Biblical
Counseling.
Strengthening Ministries International
A Biblical counseling ministry, Strengthening Ministries
International seeks to strengthen churches and Christians by conducting
training conferences and seminars. Director Wayne Mack began his
teaching and counseling career with Jay Adams at the Christian
Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF). Wayne now teaches at a Ministry Training Center in Pretoria South Africa.
Timeless Texts
Exclusive publishers of the works by Jay E. Adams, the "founder" of
the Biblical counseling movement and author of over 60 books, Timeless
Texts publishes others books as well, including several by Wayne Mack.
